Crocs Kicks around in Haiti

From April 11 through the 15, All Hands is celebrating National Volunteer Week by launching Vini Jwe, or “come play.” As a thank you to the city of Leogane, and to all of our volunteers and partners, All Hands has decided to celebrate National Volunteer week by constructing a soccer field for the community. The field, which was originally a football pitch, was used as an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp after the 2010 earthquake, and then later as a site for a medical clinic. After the medical clinic relocated, the local government gave the site back to the community to use as a football pitch. All Hands is working with local volunteers, international communities and community volunteers to turn this public space into a site where the community can relax and enjoy their love of soccer. All Hands will celebrate the field’s construction with a soccer tournament on April 16, inviting NGOs, local soccer leagues and the community to come and play. Crocs is sponsoring the event, and will be donating hundreds of shoes.
